My Services
Manual Therapy
Manual Therapy is a technique used by many physical therapists.
It involves using mobilisations, known as ‘accessory’ and ‘physiological’ mobilisations. The techniques that I have learnt are called ‘Maitland’s’ and ‘Mulligans’.
The benefits of manual therapy are: reducing pain, improving joint and tissue mobility, reducing inflammation, inducing relaxation, and facilitating movement and exercise.
Rehabilitation
Rehab is such an important type of therapy which a lot of people underestimate! Most pains and problems can be solved just by following rehabilitation.
I can design a rehabilitation plan for you, or I can conduct a rehabilitation session to help recover from an injury, and reduce the chances of that injury happening again.
Taping
Taping can be used for a multitude of benefits, such as providing support to a structure, improving your proprioception, and reducing pain and inflammation.
Zinc oxide tape can be applied to prevent injuries such as lateral ankle sprains (rolling your ankle) due to it being very strong and tensile.
Kinesiology tape (also know as KT Tape) can be applied to reduce pain and inflammation
Massage
Massage is probably the most common treatment modality that I use from client to client.
I am qualified to perform Sports massage, Swedish massage, and Holistic massage. I typically use more than one type within most of my treatment sessions.
Massage has many benefits, here are just a few: reducing stress, reducing muscle tension and pain, improving immune function, improving energy, and lowering your heart rate
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a treatment which has been used for thousands of years and originated from traditional Chinese medicine. It involves using very thin needles which are inserted into ‘acupuncture points’ which helps correct the flow of ‘Qi’ within your body.
Acupuncture is great for reducing inflammation, releasing endorphins which can reduce pain, and increasing blood flow to help recovery. It can also be used to treat almost any condition, whether it is emotional or physical.
Dry needling
Dry needling, also known as trigger point dry needling and intramuscular stimulation, is where a fine needle is used to penetrate the muscle. It is typically pain free and can be used on any part of the human body.
Dry needling can be used for reducing muscular pain and stiffness, easing trigger points (also known as knots) and can help improve your flexibility.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy has been dated back to 1550BC! It involves using glass, bamboo, or silicon cups which are used to causes suction against skin and muscles by using a hand vacuum (as you can see on the image).
Cupping can help, reduce inflammation and pain, improve blood flow, and facilitate the healing process.
